Fire Damages the St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church Facility

Monterey Park, California

June 25, 2010 - A fire of unknown cause occurred in St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church in Monterey Park, CA. The fire appears to have started between the altar and the pipe organ, and did considerable damage to the 50 year old sanctuary building.

Since this church is in the Los Angeles metro area, Father Peter Lo was pressured by several restoration contractors, public adjustors, and other so called experts to hire them to perform their services. Father Lo had heard about GuideOne Insurance and GuideOne Taylor ball, and was relieved when our representatives arrived on site Monday morning.

After a short meeting, GTB was retained to do the restoration work on the church building, and to do some quick modifications to the fellowship hall to accommodate church services during the reconstruction process.

Project Manager Steve Liker arrived on site Tuesday morning to begin work, concentrating first modifying on the fellowship hall, while fire investigators worked in the sanctuary building to determine the source of the fire. A temporary wall will be installed, splitting the fellowship hall into worship space and a dining area, as this congregation likes to eat and fellowship, as well as worship. Structural engineers and other consultants are assisting GTB in preparing a plan for restoration of the sanctuary building, so that work on the structure can begin as soon as possible.
