The Philadelphia Baptist Church in Jasper Alabama was struck by lighting on Wednesday evening, March 3, 2010. Church members were in the building at the time, and immediately summoned the fire dept. The firemen were able to control and put the fire out quickly, however the sanctuary building sustained moderate structural and smoke damage.
GuideOne Insurance and GuideOne Taylor Ball were also contacted and arrived on site within 24 hours. Subsequently the church retained GuideOne Taylor Ball Construction Services to repair and restore the damage to the building.
The scope of work will require replacement of the entire wood roof deck, replacement of interior finishes, and rewiring of the building. In the meantime, GuideOne Taylor Ball Construction Services worked with the church to clean up and prepare the fellowship hall in order to maintain church services.
