Mt. Horeb Presbyterian Church

Grottoes, Virginia

This 150+ year old church had survived Civil War battles however lost its battle to an electrical fire. The church congregation struggled on what to build back. The church wanted a structure that looked like their old building while serving the current needs of the congregation.

GTB was selected as their construction manager and subsequently helped the church hire an architect. The church participated in exercises that helped develop a vision for the future of the church. Once the church had set their vision, GTB provided preconstruction services within the development of the structure for which gave them the feeling of their original church exterior structure, while providing and interior space, which gave them the room to hold the functions that fit their ministries that they wanted to provide the community. GTB constructed a 10,000 square foot building that fit the needs of the church and fit into the rural setting of the church. Once construction started the project was brought in under budget and on time with complete satisfaction of the church building committee and congregation.
