First Presbyterian Church of Navasota
Navasota, Texas
February 7, 2002 – An electrical fire broke out below the narthex of this Victorian – English style church sanctuary. This church organized in 1866 with the current facility being built in 1894 with local quarry stone and native timber.
The sanctuary facility also housed a kitchen, fellowship hall, bathrooms, and several classrooms in its basement, which also had been damaged by the fire fighting efforts. The fire traveled up the walls around the narthex and communicated across the large exposed timber roof trusses with exposed finished decking.
Since the First Presbyterian Church's sanctuary is registered with the Texas State Historical Survey Committee, it became imperative that reconstruction hold true to the buildings original architectural design. |

Through a detailed scope of work and long hours of research, GTB was able to use specialty sub-contractors from around the country to replicate the original building to its pre-loss condition, thus allowing the First Presbyterian Church to maintain its Official Historical Registration and Medallion.
