May 8, 2010 – An electrical fire which started at a light fixture caused moderate damage to the university’s library and an adjacent administration facility.
GuideOne Insurance Large Loss and GuideOne Taylor Ball (GTB) were notified of the fire on May 10, 2010 with the GuideOne catastrophe team arriving on site the next morning May 11, 2010; after several meetings with the university staff, GTB made arrangements for immediate follow up mitigation work and began documenting the extent of the damage. University officials in noticing the immediate impact of the GuideOne large-loss team; investigated GTB references. Impressed with the GTB credentials and references, the Columbia International University officially engaged GTB to reconstruct their library and administration building with some modifications and updates provided by the university’s architect on May 19, 2010. |
